Walls are shipped K.D., field assembly required. Pre-cut wall studs are spaced 24” on center. Exterior siding is LP primed siding. Roof materials include pre-built roof trusses and end gables. Our trusses are designed to handle severe snow loads of 40 psf and 90 mph wind loads. can be upgraded to 140 mph, see below.Roof sheathing is 7/16” OSB. 2x6 loft floor provides extra storage, see drawing below. White pine trim is included for gable trim, door trim and corner trim. Gable trim is pre-cut. Trim is unfinished; painting required.
About Our Siding …
Siding is primed with vertical grooves 8” O.C. for an attractive plank look. Manufactured by Louisianna-Pacific, constructed from oriented strand board with a cedar texture embossed into the resin-saturated overlay, free from knotholes and patches. Siding is treated with Composibor (from US Borax) to prevent fungal decay and insect damage. This siding is primed and has a 50 year manufacturer warranty with a 5 year labor replacement. Looks best and lasts longest when finished with latex acrylic paint.
Pre-built Barn Doors …
Pre-built doors create a professional look when your barn raising is completed. Double entry doors (6'-0" wide x 6'-9" high) are shipped pre-built. Doors are constructed with primed LP siding, 8” on center groove. White pine trim with a 2×4 frame to keeps doors straight and prevents warping. See photo below. Black 5” heavy-duty powder-coated hinges and door latch also included.
Optional floor kit saves time and energy. Owner will need to add 4x6 treated timbers for the floor to rest on. Other options include single-hung windows and decorative octagon gable window (not shown). Add one window-and-shutter kits to build as pictured. Window openings are not pre-cut, so you choose the placement of windows.
